A quick guide to course structure, curriculum coverage, and practical details.

Use the syllabus to see where a course fits in your program and what learners will work toward.

Start with the course's purpose

Choose Institution, if the view selector is shown. It presents the same course with additional curriculum information.

Syllabus overview: audience view, course title, and lecture count.

  • Program Overview and Course Description: the course's scope and approach.

  • Course Goals: the broad educational aims.

  • Learning Objectives: the intended outcomes.

  • Prerequisites and Target Audience: the expected starting point and intended learners.

Review the teaching sequence

Lectures lists L01 onward. Each entry can include Learning Objectives, Key Concepts, Materials, and See Also connections. Use these to compare the teaching sequence with your program's needs.

Check assessment and curriculum coverage

  • Practice & Study Tools: available practice questions and Cusp Cards.

  • Assessment: the assessment policy and question counts.

  • How competency is determined: how the course evaluates learning. Counts alone do not demonstrate competency.

  • CODA Competency Coverage: connections between standards and lectures. Read the status labels and supporting evidence; a pending connection is not verified coverage.

Review sources and administrative details

Disclosures records relevant relationships or interests.

Bibliography links to the reference library, when available. Administrative Information includes:

  • Course Information: costs, refunds and cancellations, educational methods, and commercial support.

  • Credit Hours and CE information: the stated hours, breakdown, provider information, and credit terms. Confirm their applicability before communicating credit to learners.

  • CE Dates: release, review, and expiration dates.

  • Policies: attendance, completion, and other course rules.

  • Contact & CE Records: contacts for questions, records, and concerns.

  • Revision History: when the syllabus was last updated.

If a section is incomplete, please ask the Cusp team for clarification before using it to make a program decision.
